The short version

We are Edmonton based and work remotely with businesses across Manitoba, from Winnipeg and Brandon to Winkler and Steinbach. One rule sets Manitoba apart from every other province we cover: if you have even one employee, your new website content has to be accessible.

That rule, a new ban on personalized pricing online, and a massage therapy college on the way all affect how a Manitoba website should be built. Here is what they mean in practice and how we do SEO around them.

How we work

Working across the Manitoba border

Manitoba is on Central time with daylight saving. With Alberta on one time all year from November 2026, Manitoba and our Edmonton office share a clock in winter, and Manitoba runs one hour ahead in summer.

We book calls in your time and keep the work moving by email and video. A plain report arrives each month showing what we did.

What is different in Manitoba

Privacy for Manitoba forms

Manitoba has no private sector privacy law in force (PIPITPA was never proclaimed and was later repealed), so PIPEDA applies to most businesses. The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) covers trustees, including licensed health professionals such as doctors, dentists, pharmacists and physiotherapists.

  • Collect only the personal health information that's necessary (section 13).
  • State the purpose of collecting it (section 15).
  • The Manitoba Ombudsman says not to email personal health information unless it is absolutely necessary, so our clinic forms send booking details, not health histories.

Advertising rules for Manitoba clinics

Each regulator sets its own advertising rules. Pharmacy and hearing aid rules in Manitoba are among the most specific in the country.

  • Chiropractors

The Manitoba Chiropractors Association requires advertising that is demonstrably true and verifiable, with no superiority claims, no names like "Best Chiropractic" and no guaranteed cure.

  • Pharmacies

The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba wants factual, clear, verifiable advertising, and bans words like "professional", "trusted", "prompt" and "cheap". Prescription price ads must show the total including the dispensing fee, and promotions can't encourage prescription transfers in exchange for a gift.

  • Massage therapists

Designated under the Regulated Health Professions Act in June 2026. The College of Massage Therapists of Manitoba has been established but is not yet registering members.

  • Audiologists

The CASLPM Advertising Standard (May 2026) bans soliciting reviews or testimonials, "expert" or superiority claims, and guarantees.

  • Hearing aid dealers

The regulation under The Hearing Aid Act bans testimonials, guarantees, bait advertising, "lifetime" claims and alarming people into buying.

  • Dentists

The Manitoba Dental Association bans superiority claims. Fee ads must state the maximum fee and stay valid for 30 days, and clinical photos must not create unreasonable expectations.

What this means for our work: no review requests for Manitoba audiologists, no testimonials anywhere for hearing aid dealers, and pharmacy copy that avoids the banned words entirely. If you are a massage therapist, we will update your pages once the new college starts registering members.

Accessibility and online pricing rules

Manitoba private organizations with 1 or more employees must follow the Customer Service Standard (2018) and the Employment Standard (2022). Since May 1, 2025, the Information and Communication Standard also applies: website content published on or after that date, or needed to access your goods and services, must meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with exceptions such as undue hardship.

For Manitoba clients we treat WCAG 2.1 AA as part of the build: headings in order, text alternatives for images, readable colour contrast and forms you can use with a keyboard, and we check new pages against it.

Online sales have new rules too. Internet agreements need written disclosure before the agreement, and since July 1, 2026, personalized algorithmic pricing by online sellers is an unfair business practice, with showing the total price including mandatory fees as a factor. There is no French requirement for private businesses.

Ongoing SEO is $500 a month for any business. If we built your site, the SEO foundations are already in it. If you have a site now, you give us access and we work on it directly, plus your Google profile, listings, reviews and links. If a franchise or head office controls your site, we focus on that off-site work. Websites with SEO built in start at $499, and most businesses fit Grow at $1,499.

Every other service works the same way in Manitoba: small business website design, website maintenance, the CRM portal, social media management, UX audits and AI Studio.
