The short version

We are Edmonton based and work remotely with businesses across Prince Edward Island, a province of about 154,000 people, from Charlottetown, which grew 9.8 percent in the 2021 census, to Summerside. In a market this close knit, people often know your name before they find your website.

That changes what SEO is for. On the Island it is less about outranking hundreds of competitors and more about making sure that when someone checks you out, your Google profile and site are complete, current and easy to act on. This page covers the rules that shape that work.

How we work

Working on Atlantic time

PEI is on Atlantic time. We set calls for your morning or early afternoon and handle the rest by email and video.

You get a plain report each month, and you can reach a real person when you have a question.

What is different in Prince Edward Island

Privacy for PEI forms

PIPEDA covers most PEI businesses. For clinics, the PEI Health Information Act covers registered health care providers as custodians. It is not deemed substantially similar to the federal law, so both can matter.

  • Under section 36, custodians must notify the individual and the Commissioner of theft, loss or unauthorized access to health information.
  • The simplest protection is collecting less, so our booking forms ask only for what is needed to book.

Advertising rules for PEI clinics

PEI's Regulated Health Professions Act (section 92) bans untruthful or misleading advertising, and each college adds its own rules.

  • Chiropractors

The new PEI College of Chiropractors has regulated the profession since August 1, 2026. No superiority claims, no guaranteed results, and written consent for images.

  • Pharmacies

The PEI College of Pharmacy bans "professional", "trusted", "cheap", "specialist" and "expert", bans comparisons, and bans inducements tied to prescriptions.

  • Massage therapists

The College of Massage Therapists of PEI provides title protection only.

  • Audiologists and hearing aid practitioners

The College of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of PEI asks for truthful, accurate advertising and fees disclosed before service. There is no PEI regulator for hearing aid practitioners.

  • Dentists

PEI Dental College guidelines (March 2025) ban testimonials, superlatives and incentive programs, and fees are advertised as maximums. The College offers a free pre review of ads at info@peidc.ca.

What this means for our work: we check new chiropractic photos for written consent, keep pharmacy copy clear of the banned words, and for dental clients we suggest sending ads for the College's free pre review before they run.

Language and accessibility on the Island

PEI's French Language Services Act covers government institutions, not private businesses.

We found no PEI accessibility statute that binds private businesses. Accessible pages are still good practice, and they tend to be easier for everyone to use.

Listings in a small market

In a small market, a complete Google profile and a few accurate local listings go a long way. If you are in the capital region, the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce is a natural place for a consistent listing.

Local links matter more than volume here. A link from an Island organization you actually work with beats a pile of directory links.
