The short version

Alberta is home. Our office is in Edmonton, and we work with businesses across the province, from Calgary and Edmonton to Red Deer and Lethbridge. This page is the hub for our Alberta work: the provincial rules that shape your website, and the pages for each Alberta city we serve.

Most of the clients you can check on our Work page are Alberta businesses, so this is the province we know best. If you are in Edmonton, our Edmonton SEO page goes deeper on the city itself.

How we work

Same province, same clock

Alberta stays on one time all year from November 2026, so there is no more falling back. If you are in Alberta, we are in your time zone.

In the Edmonton area we can meet in person. Everywhere else in the province, we work by video call and email at the same published prices.

What is different in Alberta

Alberta PIPA, the Health Information Act and your forms

Most private businesses fall under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act. Clinics can be different: licensed pharmacies and regulated members of 13 colleges, including chiropractors, dentists and pharmacists, are custodians under the Health Information Act. Audiologists, hearing aid practitioners and massage therapists are not custodians, so PIPA applies to them.

  • Under PIPA, collect only what's reasonable (section 11) and tell people the purpose and who can answer their questions, before or at collection (section 13).
  • If a service provider outside Canada collects or receives the information, people must be told (section 13.1). That includes some form and email tools.
  • Breaches with a real risk of significant harm must be reported to the Commissioner (section 34.1). The Health Information Act sets a lower bar for its breach duty.
  • Health Information Act custodians storing health information outside Alberta need a written agreement, so we keep health questions off general website forms.

Advertising rules for Alberta clinics

Alberta's Health Professions Act bans untruthful or misleading advertising for every regulated profession. Each college then adds its own standard.

  • Chiropractors

The College of Chiropractors of Alberta bans guarantees and superiority claims. Testimonials are allowed with the patient's written permission, and not for conditions outside the musculoskeletal system. "Specialist" needs authorization, and the College proactively reviews websites and social media.

  • Pharmacies

Under the Pharmacy and Drug Regulation, a licensee or proprietor must not solicit the transfer of prescriptions or the transfer of care of patients. Inducements such as rewards, gifts, coupons or loyalty points tied to drugs or professional services are banned by the Alberta College of Pharmacy.

  • Massage therapists

Massage therapy is not a regulated health profession in Alberta. Privacy law and consumer law still apply.

  • Audiologists

ACSLPA Standard 4.5 asks for truthful, verifiable advertising with no guaranteed success, no superiority claims and nothing that discredits other providers.

  • Hearing aid practitioners

The College of Hearing Aid Practitioners of Alberta bans guarantees, superiority claims and disparaging competitors, and a client can only be identified with consent.

  • Dentists

The College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta uses a principle based advertising statement, and fees may be advertised.

What this means for our work: Alberta pharmacy pages never ask people to transfer their prescriptions, and chiropractic testimonials only go up with written permission. You can see how we handle this for real Alberta clinics in our Oxford Chiropractic and Acme Drug Mart case studies.

Selling online in Alberta

Alberta's Consumer Protection Act says the total price must be at least as prominent as any part of the price, and advertorials must be labelled as ads.

For internet sales, you need clear disclosure before the contract, a chance for the buyer to accept or decline and correct errors, and a copy of the contract sent within 15 days. There is no French requirement for private businesses.

Alberta listings and links

Your name, address and phone should be identical on your Google profile, your website and every Alberta directory you appear in. Local chamber listings help too, and the Alberta Chambers of Commerce connects the province's local chambers.

For links, we look first at the Alberta organizations you already work with: suppliers, associations and community groups that would happily link to a real local business.

Our approach

How our SEO works for Alberta businesses

Pages for each service and area

A page per service, plus area pages only where you really work, the way we did for Oxford Chiropractic's Castle Downs, Griesbach and St. Albert pages.

Google profile

Categories, services, photos and weekly posts, with in person help if you are in the Edmonton area.

Reviews inside the rules

A review routine that fits your college: written permission where testimonials are allowed, and nothing that looks like an inducement.

Listings and links

Consistent Alberta listings and links from real local organizations, checked every month.

Alberta hub

Our Alberta city pages

Each of these pages covers one Alberta market in detail. This page stays province wide, so it doesn't repeat them.

Pricing

Same prices in Alberta

Ongoing SEO is $500 a month for any business. If we built your site, the SEO foundations are already in it. If you have a site now, you give us access and we work on it directly, plus your Google profile, listings, reviews and links. If a franchise or head office controls your site, we focus on that off-site work. Websites with SEO built in start at $499, and most businesses fit Grow at $1,499.

Every other service works the same way in Alberta: small business website design, website maintenance, the CRM portal, social media management, UX audits and AI Studio.

FAQ

Alberta questions

Can Alberta chiropractors use patient testimonials?

Yes, with the patient's written permission, under the College of Chiropractors of Alberta standards, and not for conditions outside the musculoskeletal system.

Are massage therapists regulated in Alberta?

No. Massage therapy is not a regulated health profession in Alberta, so there is no college advertising standard. Privacy and consumer protection law still apply.

Is this the same as your Edmonton SEO page?

No. Our Edmonton SEO page covers the Edmonton market in detail. This page covers the rules that apply across Alberta and links to every Alberta city page we have.

Do you meet Alberta clients in person?

Yes, in the Edmonton area. Anywhere else in Alberta we work by video call and email, at the same prices.

How much does SEO cost in Alberta?

Ongoing SEO starts at $500 a month for any business, on the site you already have or one we build. Websites with SEO built in start at $499, and most businesses fit our Grow tier at $1,499.
